2014
Founded the Business
Blackfields was founded by two colleagues who had previously worked together and shared a vision of building their own business. What began as an idea discussed over a pint at Bar Humbug on Whiteladies Road evolved into a carefully planned venture, with a five-year strategy focused on securing private and domestic contracts. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to quality, the business grew to employ a team of four staff members, while also establishing strong relationships with clients who continue to work with Blackfields to this day.
2016
Moved Wearhouse
As demand for our services continued to grow, we expanded into a larger unit to increase capacity and support a growing workload. This period marked an important stage in the company's development, strengthening relationships with many clients who remain valued customers today. To further broaden our appeal and meet a wider range of customer needs, we also expanded our product offering to include doors, windows, metalwork, and specialist finishing services, helping to establish Blackfields as a trusted provider of bespoke joinery and craftsmanship.
2023
Worked with Chrysalis as a Subcontractor
Working alongside Chrysalis on a wide range of commercial and residential projects, we developed a strong and long-standing partnership built on trust, quality, and shared values. Over several years, this relationship has grown through the successful delivery of numerous contracts, allowing us to support a diverse range of projects while continuing to strengthen our reputation as a reliable and valued partner.
2025
Joined Chrysalis Group
Joining the Chrysalis Group marked an exciting new chapter in Blackfields' journey, providing the platform and support needed to take the business to the next level. As part of the wider group, we have been able to strengthen our brand, expand our reach, and gain exposure to larger and more diverse contract opportunities. This partnership has created a strong foundation for continued growth, enabling us to build on our reputation for quality craftsmanship while supporting the long-term development of the business.
